I used to work at a marina.  It was not as large as the one you have pictured.  The amount of dangerous work that was performed was staggering.  Stay safe!

I didn’t know you could store boats like this. Huh.

Whaaaat is that awesomeness! Looks like a picture taken with Tilt-Shift ( fuzzy focus top and bottom of image to make it look like a diorama / model) but in your case this is real. Those boats look like bathtub toys. Like you found where they store the Ark, just past the boat isle.

I have helped buddies work on their boats in the off season and they were often stored outside with big boat jacks.  Did those things ever get knocked over?    They felt steady when on or under the boat (paint) but still seemed sketchy.  I think their was also some wood in places under the keel but that was a while ago.

Never 50ft off the ground, but a Cessna Caravan is refueled on the top of the wing. When you add floats they’re REALLY tall. Thankfully there’s now a modification to allow them to be fueled from under the fuselage, but I have no idea how common that system is.

I only ran across two in my ramp rat days. The methodology that may have been used for the first was a small step ladder on the top of the fuel truck. The second we couldn’t refuel because it was too windy to attempt. Thankfully the owner was understanding.

It's amazing how much stuff is designed for the user without any thought on refueling or maintenance.

I nearly fell through the floor of a house once after a fire. Entering unstable structures is probably the biggest risk I ever took.

I once found myself helping take hay to someone’s horses during what was supposed to be a bodily injury investigation. That was a great day.

I almost took a fire restoration job. The giant boat forklift looked like more fun.

Restoration is a hard, but interesting job

Rack’em and stack’em!

There are several marinas on the chain of lakes around here that have really big boat racks. I think one is 6 rows tall. The fork lifts are yuuuuuuuge.

It’s fun to watch the marinas fork $750 k Formulas out of the water, drive them over a bumpy parking lot and lift them 50ft up into the racks.

I never saw one fall over off actua l boat stands and I probably helped haul and block 700 boats.

6 tall is an enormous building. I don't think they get bigger than this building here because of hurricanes

No, thank you. My legs are turning to jelly just looking at the photo and thinking about being up there.

And this is why I am going to miss Oppo. Thank you for your insight,  I have thought about that for probably 20 years.

The only time I ever saw one knocked over was a result of a guy hitting a stand with a boat trailer.  They were stable even in hurricane conditions.
